Defensive Pistol is an advanced class and student must have, at a minimum, the NRA BASIC PISTOL, MS Enhanced Carry or equivalent before registering.  ***THERE IS A $50 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT REQUIRED TO SECURE SEATING***

Teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly, and with confidence.

More Details:

The Next Level Pistol I Course will focus on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset. The goal of the course will be to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly, and with confidence. As a result of participating in this course, the student will be able to explain and demonstrate the following: How to apply the Rules for Safe Gun Handling when carrying a concealed firearm, basic principles of concealment, the difference between cover and concealment, drawing from the holster, levels of mental awareness, developing the proper mindset when using a pistol for personal protection, clearing common stoppages, and more. Shooting scenarios will be timed to initiate stress into the training.

Students will receive a Certificate of Training from A & R Firearms Training, LLC.

This course of instruction will require the following equipment:

• Quality firearm – suitable for personal defense
• quality belt to support holster and spare mags
• minimum of 250 rounds (400 preferred)
• quality holster – NO NYLON HOLSTERS!!
• Ability to carry minimum of 3 magazines.  (1 in firearm and two spare mags for reloads)
• electronic hearing protection
• eye protection
• ability to hydrate
• gun cleaning kit
