PREREQUISITE: THIS IS NOT A BASIC CARBINE COURSE!! TO BE ACCEPTED INTO THIS COURSE, ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO VERIFY SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A BASIC PATROL CARBINE COURSE AT MINIMUM, NO EXCEPTIONS!! THIS IS A SAFETY PROTOCOL.
This course of instruction is designed to increase the individual officers’ efficiency with the Patrol Carbine. This entire 2-day course of instruction will take place on a live-fire range. NO CLASSROOM PORTION IN THIS CURRICULUM. This course will cover the following topics and more: *Quick refresher on fundamentals, *Quick zero check of weapon/optics, *Shooting on move, *Reloads, *Malfunctions/Clearing, *Shooting from standing-prone-kneeling positions, *shooting strong side and support side, *Shooting from barricades, *Trigger control, *Proven techniques of operating the weapon system consistently, *Sling adjustment, *Anatomically correct shot placement, *Target Discrimination, and Low light shooting. This is not a comprehensive list of all topics to be discussed/covered.
